Review: Maple Holistics All Natural Avocado Oil & Tea Tree Conditioner!

Hello, Beauties!

It's been a few weeks since my last post, and as I can now reveal, that's because I was taking some time to revamp Beauty by Bracco!

I've had the same layout for almost 3 years now, and I thought it was time to spruce things up a bit! I'm loving the new crisp & clean look. How do we like it?! Be sure to check out the side bars! I've added a lot of fun, new features.

In order to celebrate this new look, I'm bringing you a very exciting post, featuring the all natural and organic beauty brand, Maple Holistics!

Maple Holistics was sweet enough to send me some of their products to try out, so I thought I'd share a review with you all, and give you some tips on how you can snag some awesome free samples of products in their line.

Let's start out with some details about Maple Holistics, shall we?!

As I mentioned earlier, Maple Holistics is an all natural, holistic beauty brand featuring a range of products from bath & body, hair care, essential oils, DIY, and more!

Check out all of their products over at Just open the tab now. You'll thank me later!

Fun facts that I definitely always appreciate when I'm trying out a product: in addition to being all natural, their products are also cruelty free, safe for color-treated hair, & sulfate free!

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've been very much into hair care lately. My hair dries out FAST and I'm desperate for products that will keep my hair as hydrated and silky as possible. That's why I was so excited to try the Maple Holistics Tea Tree Conditioner & Maple Holistics Avocado Oil! Let me tell you... I genuinley was NOT disappointed!

Let's start with the Avocado Oil!

The Avocado is described as a deep-tissue moisturizer for hair, face, and skin. Rich in Retinol & Vitamin E to reduce wrinkles, support skin rejuvenation, and hair growth!

Look at the ingredients here. Look.

100% Avocado Oil. That's it. More importantly, cold-pressed. If you're an OG reader, you can recall how much I raved about the importance of oils being cold-pressed during their production. Check out my very first post, raving about Josie Marain's Cold-Pressed Argan Oil. In short, by cold-pressing, you are not ridding the oil of any essential nutrients. This is incredibly important to know, as cold-pressing ensures you're getting the most out of these wonderful products.

Some (including myself) could be scared or put off by the thought of using an oil in their hair. Will it make my hair look greasy? Too shiny? I was definitely a bit apprehensive, but I was quickly put at ease when I saw the luscious results.

I used this product two ways!

As suggested on the back of the bottle, I took a tiny amount and added it to my shampoo. I massaged the shampoo in my hair as I normally do, with the balls of my fingers, and actually let it set there for about a minute. Do NOT scratch your scalp with your nails, people! We don't want to damage our scalps. Use the balls of your fingers to gently massage your hair products into your precious little heads.

Typically, when I rinse out my shampoo, my hair immediately feels super dry and straw-like. It is begging for that conditioner. This time, my hair actually felt a little softer than usual, but I wasn't going to get my hopes up yet...

When I got out of the shower, I squeezed a dime sized pump of the Avocado Oil into my hands, rubbed together, and first pressed the oil gently onto my face, moving in upwards motions, and then I just took the excess and ran my fingers through my hair from root to tips. I wanted to do this as a sort of leave-in conditioner. My hair is also pretty frizzy, so I wanted to see if this would keep the frizz at bay.

You can purchase the Avocado Oil HERE for just $12.65.

Next up, the Tea Tree Conditioner!

The Tea Tree Conditioner is described as a hair conditioning treatment that will condition and soften your hair with features of silk protein amino acids, Vitamin B5, & Keratin. It will help to improve thinning, dry, frizzy, brittle, static, wavy hair.

As I mentioned above, I really need help with my dry/damaged hair, so I was very excited to give this a try.

Take a look at the ingredients for this conditioner. It's comforting to read the back of a label, and be able to understand what the product actually contains.

How did I use it?

There was no fancy method to my use of the Tea Tree Conditioner. After I washed with my usual shampoo (which is from John Frieda, BTW), I massaged some of the conditioner into my hair from roots to ends, and I let it sit for about 2-3 minutes. I used too much the first time. Less is more with this product. You don't notice it until you start working it into the hair!

I started to feel the cooling sensation that's often associated with Tea Tree products (I don't really mind it. It's a little weird, but also nice?) and then I just rinsed it out! My hair after this... in combination with the Avocado Oil... was so. freaking. SOFT.

You can purchase the Tea Tree Conditioner HERE for just $12.77. You can also pair this with the Tea Tree Shampoo for only $19.97 - Check out that combo HERE .

The true test would be, however, how my hair feels after it dried.

I usually wrap my hair in a towel after I get out of the shower, and then after a while I'll just let it air dry (unless I'm feeling REALLY motivated). I decided to test out not using my typical leave-in conditioner, since I was allowing the Avocado Oil to play that role. After my hair dried, it remained soft! My hair is kind of naturally frizzy, but it really kept a silky shine! I also think my hair looked lighter and brighter (I'm a fake blonde). I really enjoyed that! It looked like I had just gotten my hair touched up.

All in all, I was really please with the results. Though, I've only tried it twice now, I've seen great results, and I feel like my hair looks, and is, so much healthier!

Can we just talk about prices for a quick second? For amazing ORGANIC beauty products, these prices are incredibly affordable.

Another cool thing that really draws me to this brand is their super sweet deal to try out their products for FREE! Seriously, pals. All you have to do is fill out a form, mention what product you'd like to try, & boom! Additionally, after they send you a free product, keep an eye on your email for information on how you can get a free full-sized product! MH does this because they want honest, constructive feedback for their products, and I think that's amazing.

Click HERE to head over to their Free Products page & fill out the form!

Now, you all know I am a sucker for subscription boxes (check out my latest Ipsy Glambag review HERE ), so I really wanted to mention the monthly subscription box MH offers!

For $40 a month + free shipping, you will receive (full-sized):

1 Shampoo
1 Conditioner
1 Essential Oil
1 Bonus Product

I think that an awesome offer, definitely worth it, and you can cancel at any time! Email for details.

That's all! We're back to our regularly scheduled programs! Next week, I'm bringing you either a Nordstrom clothing haul, or a What's in My Ipsy Glambag! (Depending on what gets here first!) I also have a really fun, incredibly simple hair tutorial coming for you in two weeks! I've been loving this style (especially because I am lazy when it comes to hair. I can't wait to share!)

Until then, Stay Beautiful
Christina Bracco

What's in My May Ipsy Glam Bag!

Happy Weekend, Beauties!

If you're here in the states, I hope you're attending lots of fun Memorial Day barbecues this weekend! I for one, am just excited to have a three day weekend. YAY! 😚

This month may be coming to an end in just a few days, (which blows my mind), however I still thought it'd be fun to share what I received in my May Ipsy Glam Bag this month!

First off, let's talk about how cute this month's bag is? Perfect way to kick off the summer season! The bag is pretty much the same material as any beach ball/pool float you're used to using in the summer! I thought that was a really clever touch. Not only does it look like a cute summer beach ball with little ice cream cones & pops all over it, but it actually is the same material! I appreciate the little details.

FYI - That means the bag is water resistant, so you're safe to bring it to all your pool parties/beach days!

Let's take a peak inside the bag to see the goodies we got...

First product is a beautiful mauvey-nude creamy matte lipstick from the brand Mellow, in the shade Posh (also my favorite Spice Girl, if you're wondering).

I really love when I receive lipsticks in my Ipsy bags! The lipstick, though matte, is super moisturizing and creamy. Also, it's infused with Vitamin E so get those nutrients, guuuurl!

The shade is a littleeeeeee basic and 'ehhhh'. I wish it would have been a more fun, summery color to go with the theme of the bag, but it's always a great shade to have!

Next, we've got the Global Beauty Care Charcoal Mask!

Charcoal masks are very popular in the world of beauty for their deep cleaning effect! Leave this mask on for 15 minutes, and it digs down, deep into your pores, and drags out all the ick we don't want clogging our beautiful skin!

These types of masks scare me a bit, because they can make me breakout (since they're literally bringing all the dirt to the surface). We'll see if this is gentle enough to not have such an effect!

Our next goodie is the Radiance Split-Pan Bronzer & Highlighter Duo by Manna Kadar Cosmetics!

When I first saw this, I totally thought it was an eye shadow duo. Derp! I've never tried this brand before, but the shades look lovely. Shimmer in a bronzer scares me a little, but you just need to know where to apply! Any bronzer with such shimmer should not be used to contour and sculpt. A bronzer like that should only be used to warm up the face.

The product is very velvety & pigmented. Perfect to give you that "I just came back from the beach or a tropical vacay" glow. I'm excited to try!

Up next is the Dreamcatcher Precision Foundation Brush 660 by Luxie Beauty!

Not going to lie... I was a little disappointed I received another brush in my glam bag. I think I've received brushes in my last 4 bags. Don't get me wrong, I love a good brush, but I would have loved to have been able to try a fun new product in its place.

It's a super cute brush. I love the periwinkle handle & it seems to be super high quality. This brush seems to be very versatile. You can use it for blending concealer, liquid foundation, powder foundations, applying highlighter, etc. I'm sure I'll put it to good use! πŸ˜‰

Finally, my last goodie is the Cream Pigment Eyeshadow by Hikari Cosmetics in the shade Honey Dew.

I'm soooo excited to try this pressed cream shadow! It seems really pigmented and I think the color is STUNNING. It's a mix of metallic coral & blush pink. Perfection! I think this is my favorite product I received this month. I'd also like to try it as a highlight? Hmmmmmm!

And there you have it! Overall, I liked the array of products I received this month, and I'm super excited to see what's waiting for me in June's glam bag! What fun things did you get in your Ipsy bag this month? Share with me!

As you may or may not know, Korean beauty products are all the rage right now. Next week, I'll share my thoughts on some Korean skincare masks I picked up a few weeks ago! Get excited!
Until then, stay beautiful,
Christina Bracco

Top 8 Wardrobe Basics Every Girl Needs in Her Closet!

Hello, Beauties!

How are we all doing?! I hope everyone had a great week. The summer weather is finally upon us, and I am in full planning mode for my first beach day!

I'm very excited about today's post, because I'm finally doing my first ever fashion piece!

I predominantly focus on beauty products here on this blog, but I have such a passion for fashion, and it's something that I love so much, I thought I'd test the waters and branch out to some fashion pieces as well! Sound good?

I'd love to share clothing hauls, deals I've found, and tips! Let me know your thoughts, and if you have any fun suggestions as well!

For today's blog, I wanted to start with some basic fashion necessities.

I decided that I wanted my first fashion blog to be something fun, practical, and full of tips! (Though, aren’t all of my posts?) πŸ˜‹

You may recall, a few weeks ago I shared a beauty post detailing my top 6 makeup products every girl needs in her collection. You can read that HERE:

Today, I'm doing something in similar fashion, (pun intended), where I'm sharing my top 8 wardrobe basics every girl needs in her wardrobe!

Let's jump right in, shall we?

1. Black Blazer

I live for a black blazer! This is such a classic staple for any girl's wardrobe. It’s so versatile!
You can wear a good blazer to the office, on a job interview, on a dinner date… so many options! Pair it with some dress pants or over a cute knee-length dress with heels for the office, or pair it with some jeans and heels for date night! You can snag a classic black blazer anywhere.

Check out this perfect black blazer at Macy's HERE

2. Classic White Tee

Classic white tee shirts are another versatile piece that you can use to switch up different looks depending on the style you're going for!

Pair this with some black jeans and converse sneakers, or tuck it into a cute skater skirt with sandals. White tees are perfect for spring & summer looks. One should always have it on deck!

Check out this perfect white tee (for a super good deal) from Forever 21 HERE

3. Leather Jacket

One of my favorites for fall, maybe even early winter or spring, is a classic chic black leather jacket. I love a black leather jacket, with some cool shades, denim jeans, and a pair of heels. Hey, pair it with your classic white tee and you're set to look cooler than cool.

Check out this chic leather jacket from Lord & Taylor (currently on sale) HERE

4. Denim Shirt

Another one of my favorites is a cute denim button down top! I love wearing these over maxi dresses, or colorful tee shirt dresses. I also love them with a pair of crochet shorts, or black jeans! This is a great feminine & fun look for spring and summer.

Check out this super simple & clean denim button down from Forever 21 HERE

5. Black Heels

Black heels... need I say more? Every girl needs a pair of black heels in their closet! Wear them in the evening, wear them in the day, wear them to any event! I mean, maybe don't wear them to a day at the zoo... unless you're really brave.

Patent leather, suede, leather... no matter what the style, no matter the heel size you're comfortable with, you must own a black heel. Do it for me!!!

Check out these adorable black pumps from DSW HERE

6. Denim Jacket

Probably my favorite in this entire blog. I pretty much wear my denim jacket every day in the spring/summer. Put it on over a cute shirt, or wear it over a beautiful sundress & pair it with some cute sandals or wedges. I just love how denim jackets make any look cute and classically feminine.

Snag this perfect denim jacket from Macy's HERE

7. Waist Belts

Waist belts are a perfect staple to give you some extra shape at the waist. If you have a looser fitting dress on, or even a tighter dress that you'd like to break up, pop on a cute belt around your waist and it really changes up the look!

Shop this cute & simple belt from Forever 21 HERE

8. Ripped Jeans

Ripped jeans aren't just for the rocker-chic looks anymore. If you play with them the right way, you can really do a lot with this look! Wear a pair of ripped jeans with a pair of cute heels, or sandals, and a floral top! That can take away the edge of the jeans and bring them to a more feminine look.

Get these incredible ripped jeans from Express HERE

And there you have it, beauties! I hope you learned something, and I hope you're excited to hear more. Let me know what your necessities are, and let me know some of your favorite places to shop!

Next week, I'm sharing what was in my May Ipsy glam bag! Be sure to stay tuned for that, because I'm really excited about this batch of goodies! 😍

Until then, stay beautiful,
Christina Bracco

New Beauty Haul - Sephora, Ulta, & More!!

Happy Monday, beauties!!

What better way to end this lovely day than to share my new makeup haul with you all!

I've been buying all kinds of new products within the past two weeks, all things I haven't tried before, so I thought I'd share what I purchased and give some first impressions.

In the "How Much?" section at the end of this post, I'll share links & prices for you to snag these for your own!
Let's dive right in! πŸ˜‰

Last week, I wrote a whole post about the Jeffree Star x Manny MUA collab. Two of those products are featured above. I won't dive into those, since they've already been chatted about, so please click here if you'd like to read my thoughts on those two products! (Hint, I think very great things of them!)

Let's first chat about the Laura Geller Diamond Dust Baked Gelato Illuminator!

I happened to turn on QVC one day, and the host had mentioned that the highly anticipated Diamond Dust was back in stock, and I wasted not a moment in quickly snagging it up!

Laura Geller is famous for her Baked Gelato Swirls, and after receiving mine, I can see why!

This diamond dust highlight is so incredibly unique! The product feels like a creme when applied, but it is a powder. It looks like an icy white highlight, but when you apply it, there is a gorgeous pink, holographic undertone to it. You can spot a touch of the pink in the photo above.

I love wearing this shade! It's so different, so fun! If you're looking for something really different, something that you're sure to get a lot of questions and compliments about, try this!

QVC is currently selling this at a featured price, that comes with a free brush! To be honest, I feel like the brush doesn't necessarily pick up the product well, but I still think it calls for a great deal for the price (listed below). I'll give the brush another try before I totally write it off, but so far I can't get it to pick up product how I'd like.

Let's chat about the new Benefit Cosmetics GALifornia blush next!

I was really excited to try this blush after seeing it in the store. Photos that I've seen online of this blush do not do it justice to how beautiful it looks in person!

It's an incredibly pigmented pinky/peach blush with a gorgeous, gold shimmer on top (the sun portion of the pan above). Also, can we talk about how cute Benefit's packaging always is? I love it so much! This a really stunning shade, perfect for all skin-tone's!

I'm curious about whether or not the gold portion of the blush is present as you get deeper into the product and closer to pan, or if it'll wear off after being used a few times. I'll have to give an update on that as it's used more. Regardless, so far, I'm really loving this!

Next, we have the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Bacca!

I realized while walking through Ulta, that I've never purchased any Stila products. I feel like people don't really talk about Stila too often, so I decided to walk over to their display and do some browsing.

Since I've been really into the liquid lipstick trend lately, I settled upon purchasing one of the gorgeous Stay All Day liquid lipsticks in the shade Bacca. Stila has some really beautiful shades in this liquid lip collection (you can browse them via the link I provide at the end of the post).

The pigmentation is really nice, and the doe-foot applicator helps the product apply really smoothly and evenly. The formula is a little drying, but I think if you apply some lip balm beforehand, you should be alright!

So far, I'm really pleased with my first Stila purchase, and I will definitely be making an effort to browse their products much more! Maybe I can do a post with a full-face Stila tutorial? Hmmm!

Let's cut to hair care for a moment with the It's a 10 Hair Mask & Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin!

Hair care is something that I don't talk about too often on my page, but will be incorporating more, as it's something that's grown more and more important to me lately!

I have a really bad habit of going long periods of time without getting my hair trimmed. I'm one of those people that hates to trim it and make it shorter (especially as I'm growing it out currently), but this just causes me to get split ends, stops the hair from growing faster, and gives me dead ends. Make it stop!!!!

As I try to get better with my haircut game, I've also been trying to preserve my hair as best I can in the interim.

As someone who is constantly using heat styling tools, I've been really into anything that can keep my hair safe from the heat, strong, and shiny. So, I picked up these two products from the popular It's a 10 brand and so far, I've been loving them!

Benefits of the It's a 10 Hair Mask
Conditioning treatment for color treated, heat process, and processed hair. Made to enhance softness & smoothness. Deep-treatment conditioner, can be use daily.

Benefits of the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin
Restorative treatment. Make hair stronger, improve luster, replace protien & shine. Protects against heat, restores hydration, defrizzes, detangles, seals cuticles.

Next up, the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer!

I was DYING to try this concealer for the longest time. It's been such a buzz in the beauty community, and I can't believe it took this long to get my hands on it.

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer has been my ride or die for the last year or so, but now, I think it's a toss up between UD & Shape Tape!

It refines the look of fine lines and pores, covers redness, blemishes, dark spots, dark circles... ANYTHING. It's a creamy, hydrating texture, full of benefits & nutrients!

This concealer is amazing. No creasing, no cracking, all coverage! It's a thicker concealer. Thicker than I expected, so make sure not to pack on too much initially. A little goes a long way with this! It's really great for under-eye, or spot concealing any pesky spots! I'm really loving it, and highly, highly recommend.

Let's chat about the Sephora Collection Contour Blush Palette next, shall we?!

While browsing around on during their Spring VIB sale, I stumbled upon this palette from the Sephora collection, and it just spoke to me. I usually don't buy anything from the Sephora collection, but I've been really into blushes/contours/highlights lately, and for the price... I had to give it a try!

The deal on this palette is great. The blushes in this palette are all warm, darker blushes, but I'm as pale as a ghost, and they all work well with my skin tone, so all skin tones rest assured!

It's a lovely mix of mattes, satin's, and shimmers. Six really unique blush shades with beautiful pigmentation. Check out the price below... you won't be believe. First impression, really impressed.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, you're up!

Let's start by saying the packaging for this mascara is super cute. I love the water drops on the tube. Very creative & clever!

I had been having some trouble with my eyes (allergies, I hate you), and they kept watering and burning throughout the days, causing all of my mascara to come off. When you're sitting at your desk at work with raccoon eyes, people will stare. So, I thought I'd invest in a waterproof mascara... since I did not previously own one.

Taking advantage of the Sephora VIB Spring sale once again, I picked up this mascara from Too Faced. If you're familiar with the original Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, then you know if you'll love this mascara or not. I do like it, except, it's super hard to take off. Of course, it's waterproof... but still. Even with a cream makeup remover, it will not budge without taking some of your own lashes with it. That... I do not like. I shall continue to use it, however, and give it a try!

Finally, we have the Anastasia Beverly Hills #23 Brush!

I had heard about this brush through Jeffree Star, who said it was his favorite brush to apply highlighter with, so I thought I'd give it a try. So far, I'm really loving it!

It's a large, round brush with really soft, natural tapered bristles. It really picks up the product without having to dip into the pan too much. So far, I'm loving it!

Now that we've gone into detail about all the products I've picked up, here are the price/purchase details for you to get your hands on them yourself!
